What are the benefits of Membership?

The real benefits of membership are very varied as the overall aim is to give members as much practical support as possible in terms of helping them to develop and operate private crematoria and cemeteries. The specific advantages can be summarised as follows:

  • Members receive regular bulletins on all the trends and proposed changes to current practices and the law relating to private crematoria and cemeteries, which are regularly reviewed and revised to keep members fully up to date at all times.
  • Members then use this information to determine the agenda for meetings, enabling focussed discussions to take place on selected priority subjects – essential when so much change is taking place - particularly in terms of the introduction of new legislation and new technology;
  • The Association is fully recognised by both national and local government as a strong and constructive contributor to all debates on new and revised legislation and regulation as well as being fully committed to the provision of the highest practical standards of service by all member crematoria and cemeteries;

  • Members benefit from central purchasing of major services and commodities thereby reducing costs particularly in relation to energy;
 





The overriding benefit, that all members appreciate, is the opportunity to be able to discuss and find solutions to all the challenges facing owners and operators of private crematoria and cemeteries particularly at a time when so many changes are taking place in a sector which, up until now, has been seen as somewhat staid and institutionalised.
